School... sweet, sweet school.
Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 08:42AM Back-to-school for me this year means "Culinary Desserts," yet another course I'm taking in my efforts to earn my chef training certificate at George Brown College.
I've sacrificed all my Friday nights this fall, right until December, so I can slave over hot ovens concocting
nectarine cornmeal cakea variety of sweet treats that I will get to bring home to Hubby.
What kind of sweet treats? I'm not sure. I haven't seen the course cookbook yet. But I am anxious to don my chef whites again. It seems like once I'm in my uniform, surrounded by the stainless-steel clad enclosure that is our classroom, all my worries get whisked away--yes, I know I said "whisked" ;).
Stay tuned, I'll be taking my camera along for the ride. Hopefully we'll all get to learn something new.
In the meantime, what's everybody baking out there? I've got a basket of peaches that are calling my name, and I hear that nectarines have hit the shelves. Try out this recipe for size.
